[OOC: Another AU pet person tale!]
~
Leanne's café is a bustling restaurant located in a big metropolis city. It was a busy yet charming restaurant with a bar of it's own to serve wine and spirits with the food. On the outside of the restaurant, tables and chairs were set up with umbrellas and flowers where customers can eat on the inside and outside. Her café is well known for their vegan dishes and sweets, and people often come to buy her meals and pastries to take out and take home in cute boxes with the art that she designed herself.
Leanne has an employee, a hard-working middle-aged woman who is recently divorced. She never spoke about her ex-husband other than it's a bitter relationship and left it at that. Her children were grown up and they moved out, and she works for Leanne as one of the chefs who worked in the back of the store in the kitchen.
One day, she announced to the staff about a set of handsome twin brothers she adopted for sons and even show pictures of them on her phone, passing them around for all to see. It turns out, she's one of those folks who adopts pet people for companions and family members. "The nest feels so empty." She said, and explained her decision in adoption was that she wanted children again. The story she shared with the staff was that they were born together and wanted to live together, so she adopted the both of them so they can stay together and be together. She then told the story of how she flew on a plane to Greece to pick them up, and then take them back home overseas.
In the pictures she shared on her phone, it turns out the cat twins she adopted are not children, but grown up cats instead who had been waiting for a home for a long time due to the fact that the brothers would rather stay together then be separated. She described them as being inseparable and they are very stubborn and intelligent boys, but they are polite and well-behaved in her own home. The chef remarked that it's fine with her, to adopt older cats instead of kittens, so that they can take care of themselves while she work long hours in the restaurant.
After some time, she announced she will be moving to another apartment, one closer to work, but the new apartment complex she's moving only allow only one pet per unit. She is quite in a predicament because she wanted the brothers to be close to each other and be able to visit each other, so she appealed for help among her staff and put up help signs on the internet.
It turned out in the end, her boss, Leanne will adopt one of the brothers. The chef keeps the younger brother, and the older bother goes to live with Leanne. It turns out to be a win-win situation, so that the two brother can see each other at the café and go home close to each other by a 10 minute walk. Agreements were made and they arranged to have Leanne meet Saga, her first pet for the first time.
After closing time, after work on a Friday night, today is the day that Leanne meets Saga, the elder twin brother, for the first time. When he was accompanied with the chef, his adopted mom, and his brother, they met in front of the store to say good-bye to each other and parted ways.
The pictures of him don't do justice. He's a tall young man, with long, wild cobalt hair with a thick mane and emerald eyes, and like the brother, they're both identical. Her chef remarked that he's the more serious and demure of the two while the other brother is energetic, mischievous and playful. However, she promised that Saga won't give Leanne a hard time and that he's a good cat, obedient and respectful, and he's quiet and reserved, and likes to be tidy.
A few weeks passed, and Leanne learns quite a lot about Saga after she gotten him properly collared. He never gave her a hard time and the chef isn't kidding about the tidy part. He kept her house neat and tidy, throws away garbage, watered her plants, do house chores knowing how busy she is as the boss of the café, and never broken a single thing or make a mess. He is perfectly behaved, and being the adopted son of a chef, he surprised her that he could also prepare a delicious meal whenever she come home. "Mother is always busy and didn't have time to take care of herself." He once explained to Leanne when she wondered why he did that. "So me and Kanon, to show our appreciation to our mother, we learned to keep her house clean and cook for her. Aren't pet suppose to work to earn their keep?" So just like the chef, Saga has a strict work ethic and he learned how to make the same dishes from her, that were sold in her restaurant.
Over time, he began to show his affectionate side after he settled in her home and getting used to the routine. One late Friday night, he patiently waits for her to come home. He watched the clock and indeed, she is coming home late. He was waiting in the living room, listening to the radio when his ears perked up, and he greeted her by the door.
"Welcome home, Leanne. How does your day go? If you're tired, you should take a rest."
