The Lord of the Underworld | locked to
song_princess
[OOC: An AU basing on the Hades/Persephone myth and this meme.]
~
In the beginning, he was selfish as he fully intended to keep her in his world forever, but the first few months is hard and harsh as there is no light in the underworld. The underworld, the world of the dead, where his world contain realms for souls to go after people die basing on their deeds. During those months, he courted her, but his true intention is to marry her and never released her. He gave her his everything: Jewels, a throne, even a crown of Queenship, so much wealth and power that only mortals can dream of.
He had permission from the King of the Gods, and with sweet words, he drew her to his side. He wanted her before his rival and nemesis, the God and king of the sea, that pervert uncle of hers, get to her before he intends to add her to his collection of lovers, concubines, and nymphs. As if the Sea God ever learned from his previous rejections and never take no as the answer.
She is the princess Goddess of spring and agriculture, and he brought her to his world by invitation. She is the daughter of the Mother Goddess of all argiculture and harvest, and to persuade the princess from the Queen of the Earth is no easy task. Unfortunately, in hindsight, because she is the daugther of the Mother of Earth, so to speak, he incurred her Mother's wrath. During the months where he harbored Leanne in his world, there are long months of winters where nights are longer than days. Nothing is growing, no flowers, wheat, vegetables, or fruits. The people are starving and dying. Less food means less worshippers and more angry prayers than praises to the Gods.
He absolutely hated being bothered and was ordered to bring Leanne back. But if it means less complaints from the dead who actually complained of starvation from their previous life, or being frozen over from the winters (and to be fair that's his fault and the blame is on him), and especially stop recieving angry letters from the Mother Goddess who kept sending him at least twice a day.
But eventually, even a gloomy, hard-hearted king of the dead has to relent. If not for the global outcry, but he realized he cannot keep Leanne forever with him. After much thought, he reached his reason and rationale that it's necessary to release her and give her back her freedom. While a part of him enjoys keeping her as a prisoner, that was the evil in his heart, but the goodness in his heart, he wanted to earn her love and set things right again.
With a heavy sigh, he beaconed Leanne to his bedroom for a much needed serious talk. "I have to return you to your mother immediately, starting tomorrow. I do not wish for the entire humanity of the world to die since I angered her so much and I'm causing her and the humans much pain." He said. Then with regret and sadness, "But I do not wish for you to leave me either."
He brought her a plate, but there's only one fruit: a pomegranate. "Remember, it's a custom in my world that anything you eat or drink means you are bound to serve me forever. However..." He uses a knife to cut in half. The red juices spilled out to reveal the rows of seeds, and he cut out the seeds and lay it out for her.
"The king of the Gods made a decree and decided thus...that depending how many seeds you choose to eat, that's how many months you'll be with me. The remaining months, you stay with your mother. If you choose not to be my wife and Queen, remember, once you return, the Sea God will immediately lay his claim on you." He frowns, and if that happens, then there's nothing he can do about it.
With the seeds laid out for her, there's four of them. "So, choose. The decision is yours."

But then it was thanks to his courting and promises of love which eventually syarts warming her up to the idea of being with him. Especially when her other option is that old pervert who doesn't truly want her.
She blinks when he summoned her to his room, fidgeting a little as she still knew no man and a part of her was scared that he wanted her. Imagine her surprise when he mention that she was going back to her mother. A brief amount of joy goes through her before pausing and thinking about it.... Saga... He has always been so alone down here. He always seemed to carry a sadness in him.
"Thank you... For thinking of both my mother and the humans. Mostly the humans."
She jumps as he not only brings out the pomegranate but cutting it and cutting out the seeds. She shudders at the thought of being claimed by the Sea god. "I would rather die than to be claimed by him! I am not a whore to be claimed by him at his whim."
She eyes the seeds and goes to look towards Saga.... Really look at him. "Before I choose, Saga.... Do you.... Do you truly love me? Not just my beauty but... Me?"
no subject
With a sigh. Nobody told him love is easy and it's full of suffering. He almost gave up hope to ever truly marry. After all, who wants to marry him and inherit such a gloomy kingdom?
"What does love mean to you and me...the both of us?" He asked, and in deep thought. "To me, that means I can love you as much as you love me. You shall rule by my side as my Queen and my wife. Where I am Death and all of my servants are extensions of my hand, you shall be an extension of my heart."
Picking up a seed, and placed it on her lips, and with such an intensity in his movements, "Now princess. Please eat. At least one. Even though I said you have a choice. I swear if you choose to leave me empty, I'll go to war with him with my specters and fight him to get you back. Even if that path does happen, you're worth all the death." A pause, almost with humor. "But let's not go to war. Not a good idea. He recently fought with one of my sisters over a city, and he lost, so he doesn't stand a chance against me."
Caressing her cheek and through her hair, "Please. Let me protect you as your husband. Even one seed would do. After this, I wouldn't give your mother any more grief."
no subject
Though at his answer and she frowns a little. It was a good romantic thought, what his words bring but it seemed like he avoided her question. "I see...."
Then he suddenly grew intense and placed the seed on her lips. "I am not...." Not worth going to war over or all the death that would come with it. Her eyes tears up a little at the thought of it.
She.... She truly had no choice. There were truths in his words, that he would love her as a husband. That he would protect her. More tears fell down from her eyes before moving to eat the seed he placed on her lips. Emerald eyes turn to look down at the other three seeds and pick them up, studying them.
A part of her did fell in love with him and did want to stay with Saga. But, he seemed to be like her perverted uncles. With a small sigh and quickly eat the remaining 3 seeds. She goes to look up at him, forcing a small smile on her face as she looks at him.
"Is that enough?" A small tease.

If he truly has the same intention as her uncle, he would have bed her by now. However, she eaten the seeds. She is his now and by Divine Law, their bond is now sealed and shall not be broken, not even by any God. "That's enough. However, you're not a true Queen of the Dead until we formerly wed and sleep in my bed...but you now have the time to think about that."
Sigh. "Yes, Leanne, that's fine." He disliked seeing her cry, that he wiped a tear away, carresing her cheek. Four. She eaten four. Four months. That means out of the 12, 8 months he won't be able to see her and stay with her.
Carrying himself with such solemn seriousness. "You may go now. To your room to rest. You're excused." And he excused her to leave him. All of those months being here with him, and tomorrow, she is free to go and see the outside world again....for eight months.
But one thing for sure, for political reasons, the sea god can now keep his paws off her now she eaten the seeds and she's under his protection.

There was a special connection that they were sharing while he courted her. She could sense how he felt about her. But was that a mere ruse? She doesn't know. She only know of one thing. She was going to be his wife.
She closes her eyes as he wipes her tear away and starts carressing her cheek. She didnt want to feel so sad over her fate. She remembered during the courting that she was feeling happy over the prospect.
She slowly reopens her eyes as he excuses her. "Saga?...." She looks away briefly and nods her head. She does lean up to kiss his cheek, a small gesture she has grown used to giving him during her months with him.
".... Will you be okay with me gone?"
no subject
"When you're ready for it." He'll wait forever or years if he has to. "Or when you return to me after your Mother's decide to restore the world again and everything comes to a natural balance."
He hesitated to answer her question at first. He's about to answer her question when there's a knock on the door. He went to open the door and answer it. There's a man wearing in black heavy armor with his pair of raven like wings in view and he's about the same height as Saga. Though they speak in hush tones, it was his younger twin brother and right hand man, Kanon, one of the gods of death and a head general of his army, who helps him rule and manage such a large realm.
But he heard her question. "Everything will be the same when you return. My feelings won't waver. Now, I have matters to attend to with my brother. I trust you'll know where your room is. You should rest." He insisted. "Think about tomorrow. You'll shall see your mother again, and the sunshine, and the birds, and the gardens you often spoke about to me. I only wanted to see you happy again." And hopefully, she gets to eat something too, as the longer he kept her here, the more hungrier she gets. Up to now, he forbade her to eat, but after she eaten the seeds and being his Queen, after she returns to her mother, that "can't eat anything in the underworld" rule should no longer apply anymore...
And really, he's beginning to question if keeping her down here is healthy for her, another reason why he release her and lets her go. "Don't worry about me. I was wrong to keep you here longer than I should. If I keep you longer, than I have to answer to the gods."
A pause as he stood by the door. It's hard to tell what's he thinking. "So up until now...forgive me. For trying to keep you." And out the door he went, leaving the door open so Leanne can leave and to settle what he needs to do with his brother for the evening.

Leanne blinks when she heard the knock and looked towards Kanon. She idly half-hugs herself as she did fear the mighty death god a little. He was powerful in his own right and in her mind, not one you wanted to cross. She goes to fidget with a lock of her hair as the twins spoke with each other and nearly jumped when Saga spoke to her again. "Perhaps one day you can come and see some of my gardens, Saga." decided to invite him.
She was hungry, she felt like she was always in a constant state of hunger while down here in the Underworld. "But... I will worry about you. Especially now that you are my King and Husband." She walks towards the doorway slowly, so to avoid accidentally bumping into Kanon. She blinks at his final words to her. "....... You have done nothing that warrants forgiveness...." She spoke to the now empty doorway.
She looks around for the knife he cut the pomegranate with and cuts off a lock of her hair to place it on his pillow before leaving to her room. Once there, she sighs as she sits on her bed before taking a deep breath and start to sing, letting her voice be carried in his palace as she sings.

The meeting felt like it goes forever. All talk, but no action as things are a lot slower in the underworld. They can't reach an agreement whether to make a fiery pit of lava and fire or make it a heavenly garden with flowers. For now, the territory is bare rock, completely barren. During the meeting, it's pressed on his mind on Leanne's health and well-being.
Meanwhile, a maid helped Leanne get dressed and ready. Once the meeting is over, Saga went over to her room to fetch her. "Come, it's almost morning. We must hurry to bring you back to the Earth or more humans will suffer from hunger." He said, as he leads her out of the room once she's ready and escorts her to the stables, where he had his horses and his chariot prepared.
Once Leanne hopped into the chariot with him, Saga took the reign and the horses flew out of the stables and over his realms where Leanne will have a view of endless chasms, rocks, lavas, and rivers. The terrain of the underworld is a melancholic world. Over the rivers, one of the death Gods is rowing his boat, ferrying the souls for a price of a coin from one realm to another.
This is the world that she is now the Queen, to rule with her husband forever for the four months she'll be living with him. It's something for her to think about as her husband guided the horses toward one of the exits that will lead her out of his realm.

"I shall pray that we won't be too late for the humans." She follows him to the stables, offering him a smile as he helps her into the chariot and she wraps her arms around him. She looks over what is now, her kingdom.... It was so bleak and miserable looking.
"... A garden would make this place look better. Even a small one." She muses as she takes in the sight. "Who knows, it may make you smile again, my King."
She lets out a sigh and keeps a strong grip on him. Now that she has slept, she doesn't want to leave him. She should have eaten more seeds. None of this was fair as if she didn't go back, it would be the humans who suffered from her mother's wrath.
"..... Can't you.... Come and get me sooner than the 8 months?"

As the horses flew, pulling the chariot, they landed near a winding stairwell through a cave. "Climb up the stairs and once you reached the top, you'll be back to Earth." Pointing to the stairwell, which is a long way to climb up. "Go find your mother as soon as you can and help restore Earth before any lives are lost."
At her request, he was surprised. And realized, all of this time, he was wrong. So she did wanted to stay with him after all, and during their courtship, she did like him and love him. He only feels guilty for causing her misery, pain, and tears. At that, there's a shift in his emotions. He was morose to the point he held himself back, letting her go. Being a distant God being surrounded by so much gloom and death. Her question at the last minute...made him changed his mind.
"We shall see. For now, you must go. Your Mother and her people need you."
But his real answer lies in his kiss when he leans forward to kiss her. A light kiss at first, and then a deeper kiss, a passionate kiss that is reserved only for lovers. Through his kiss, what he is truly saying to her without saying anything was: Yes, I shall try.
no subject
When they arrived at the stairwell, she frowns a little on the inside. She will be back at her old home for 8 months. "I will do what I can...." She worries and frets too much about the living herself. Before Saga came into her life, she always did what she could to make sure there was always plenty of food and bounty. A part of her felt guilty for wanting to stay with her Beloved.
She waited for his answer and his words, a part of her guesses that was the most she can expect from him. What she didn't expect was the surprise kiss. She lets out a small muffled sound as his kiss started to become more and more passionate. She felt her legs almost giving out under the passion of his kiss and his real answer was felt loud and clear. It gave her joy to know that he will try and see her, to bring her back now to her true home and she goes to kiss him back.
She will wait for him. Wait for him to come and get her. She breaks the kiss, panting and smiling up at him with love in her eyes. "I will be waiting for you, my love." She softly pants out before moving to leave his arms. For now, humans needed and were depending on her. Without looking back, Leanne starts climbing the stairs. If she looked back, her determination will fail and she would want to stay with him.
First things first, finish climbing the stairs and then finding her mother. Restoring the Earth is the second thing to do before telling her that she is not unofficially married to Saga. That is going to be a battle best fought after food and rest. But most importantly food.

It's going to be a long 8 months of waiting, and if he wants to shorten it, then he'll have to make an appeal to the King of the Gods who sits on his throne on the mountain in the palace in the sky.
It really depends how the following months will go and how patient he is. And while normally he is a patient man, abiding by the cosmic laws, that patience will soon be tested. Until then, he sat on his throne to endure the long dull meetings with his death gods and spectre generals, brooding until the day his promised bride will return to be back by his side once more to rule his world with him, after she fufilled her duty to her Mother and the people of the Earth.
-----
The first four months, and like a miracle, thanks to Leanne returning back to her Mother, the land is green again, crops and wheat has grown, and the livestock multiply. The human population began to steadily prosper until there's no more casualties of starvation, and the worshippers begin to flock back to the temples of the other gods with their offerings during harvest time, much to the relief of the Gods. Things went to back to normal tipping the scale of nature back into balance.
Of course, during those four months it was hard. Leanne wasn't in contact with her fiance during that time, as her Mother is overjoyed to have her returned, and from there it was going straight to work to save humanity nonstop. Of course, she was giving Leanne much grief, but during her downtime, she didn't forgive the King of the Gods to give the Underworld King permission to marry her.
However, the Mother isn't the main concern as by now, she seems she's willing to let her only daughter go and be married with her blessing, now that she sees the King of the Underworld isn't unreasonable. It's the king and the Sea God who opposed to this arrangement.
It was late one day in the summer, where Leanne only has three months to go, 100 days before the promised day of rejoining Saga, her beloved in the Underworld, that she recieved a letter from the Sea God, delivered to her by a pelican who happened to crashed on her home, smelling strongly of fish. The letter was tied to it's feet, and it reads:
"To my dearest niece,
I am writing this letter to you to plead to your reason to rethink this marriage. That it's not too late to make an appeal to the King of the Gods and turned away from this marriage if that isn't what you wanted and marry me for the sake of your happiness. I only wish to implore you to think with reason that perhaps maybe this is a grave mistake.
I am proposing the idea of marriage to you. Think about this and my offer. You shall be the Queen all of all the 7 seas and control the storms. The mermaids will sing daily praises about us. Did you know we have concerts daily every evening? And the food is truly divine. There are hidden treasures from jewels and pearls, that I'm sure will delight you if you wear them, and will make your beauty outshine.
The underworld is truly bleak with no joy or happiness. It's a world full of constant death. Do you truly want to endure that for eternity? The world of the sea is truly more beautiful and best suited for you. You shall have dolphins and horses as steeds for chariots. Think about your mother. I shall take care of you, and with you by my side, there shall be no grief but only joy for all of us as a family.
I am writing to you with a heavy burden and that my offer is not an idle whim of my desires. Your marriage to me means to rule side with me on my throne and my crown, and share a responsibility to our people in my world and yours as well. Shall you accept, then we shall make haste and make an appeal. There is still time to rethink as I have what is best for your future and mine as well."
The letter is signed with his signature and seal to prove it was really from her Uncle, making a proper formal complaint and let his resentment be known of how much he disapproved of her relationship with Saga. If anything, it can be felt that his letter is a protest against her engagement to him.
The pelican didn't seem it wanted to leave as he stayed around her premise refusing to leave unless she writes a response to him. Until then, it will even rudely pick a few of her vegetables in her garden and eats them until her letter of response is written...for him to deliver back to his king, as the pelican is a mere servant from his kingdom.

Leanne was idly singing, singing for her Beloved. A part of her praying that he could hear her in the Underworld, when the pelican crashed into her home. She blinks at the sight of the letter and goes to first feed the pelican some fruit before sitting down on her bed to read it.
She frowns as she reads it and moves at once to go and look for her Mother to show her the letter. Also to vent her frusterations that her uncle will do that and how she would not like be one of his many conquests. Finally, she went to plead with her to invite Saga to their home. Just for one day, one day to have him in their home.
Though.... Would her Mother truly be happier with her marrying the Sea God. Her heart belonged to Saga but.... What would make her mother happy? As a last plea method to let Saga at least visit them. "We can see then... if he is truly the one for me to marry then, Mother."
But until then, she needed to respond to her uncle's letter.
My dear beloved Uncle,
I thank you for your concern and your seas do sound beautiful. However, my heart belongs to Saga. Even if I am scared of his generals and Spectors. His home is gloomy and not a place for me.... I can sense his love for me. It shines so beautifully whenever I am in it's presence.
However, I will bring this up with Mother and see what she will think of your offer. I will only rethink of my marriage to Saga if she is against it as well. I only wish for not my happiness but the happiness of her and all the humans in this beautiful world. Their smiles and laughter is what makes me the most happy.
Signed,
Your Niece, Leanne.

In response, the next following week, a thunderstorm with angry black clouds and lightning came pouring down over her home for a few days. In a dream as the storm rages, he whispered in her mind, "You're too young to understand. You're a naive and a fool." He said with disappointment, appearing to her while wearing a robe and hood to cover his face and standing on a cliff with the raging sea behind him to demonstrate his anger and power. But after he showed up that one time in her dream, he didn't show up again.
The rain is so heavy that the water completely flooded her home and her garden, and thus all of her crops and vegetables had withered and died from so much flooding and water. No doubt he sent it as an extension of his anger. But over time, the skies cleared but the damage to her garden and her home is already done.
It is never said that the Sea God is a graceful god who could take no and rejection as an answer, and there are more stories of his temper and wrath as much as his generosity.
----
For those months that she did not grace his halls or stay by his side to talk to him, he was sitting on his throne, more depressed than usual and moping. There's no songs of her sweet voice to vibrate and echo in his castle or anywhere in his realm. The only thing that kept his hope is the lock of her blonde hair that she left him on his pillow before she left him, and he kept it, storing inside a locket. He did not send any letter, as he truly believed he did not want to interfere with her work with the humans and keep her focus on her duty. He merely waited until she's close to finish her work and when she's ready to join him again.
Nothing is ever truly secret in any world and it's not like his rival, the Sea God, kept his silence of letting his loathing of him and protest to his engagement to the Earth Mother's only daughter be known. He did made an appeal to the king in the sky, but he cannot shorten the 8 months. There's the only an exception to this rule that another God or Goddess invite him to come to the above ground on business. News quickly reached his ears as to what the Sea God did to her home, and that's when he decided to act and send her a letter...
-----
An owl flew toward to her home and landed in the front of her door, pecking at the door to knock on it and make a noise of hoots to get her attention. There's a letter attached to his leg, a letter from Saga that reads:
"Dear Leanne,
I heard your home is damaged. As a wedding gift, if you truly want me to help you repair your home, I can come to you and fix it."
The letter is short and sweet, but then again Saga is a man of few words. Now if only she gets her mother's permission to invite him and allow him to be the repairman.
no subject
It was during her idle picking through the wreckage of her home was when the owl came. Leanne blinks at the sound of pecking and tilts her head at the sight of the owl. She crouches down to coach it to rest on her shoulder after removing the letter. Who is it this time?
She blinks at the letter before letting out a happy squeal. She couldn't help but to kiss the owl and let it rest on her shoulder as she hurries to her mother.
After much begging and pleading, showing her the letter. Leanne quickly pens a letter back to him, putting on some lipstick in order to press a kiss by her signature.
"My beloved Husband,
I miss you and these months apart are feeling like an eternity. I have spoken with Mother and I hope these are good tidings to you. She agreed to let you come and help repair my home!
I shall look forward to seeing you.
Leanne.
P.S. You should probably ask her properly for my hand while you are here."

He left his twin brother in charge of the throne, an occasion that never happened since the creation of their world before as the king can never leave the underworld or his throne unattended unless he was given a personal business with another deity. Or in this case, the Earth Mother and her daughter needed him that require his powers.
Attended by only two spectres to come with him as attendants and guards, he rode his chariot out of the underworld being pull by black horses and into the world of humans. They arrived and landed in front of their house when the sun went down, the sky is orange-red, and night fell, and when Saga disembarked from his chariot, he silently surveyed the flooded land of her garden and the wreckage of her house shared with her mother.
"..." He's quite disappointed at the Sea King's behavior over his wrath over the land and against them, but the sooner he helped her repair the damage and honorably win her mother's approval for her daughter's hand in marriage, the quicker his feud with him will end, and Leanne will become an official member of his family.
He waited outside, extending his cosmos to Leanne to greet him outside.
no subject
Waiting for him was such sweet torture and with her mother at her side, aiding her in the repair and rebuilding of her home. It was going by slowly as they still put their duties ahead of their own desires.
She was busy cleaning up another corner of their home while her Mother cooked when she felt Saga's cosmos. She pauses before her wings perk up and she quickly drops what she was doing in order to run outside. She pauses at the doorway and couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her Beloved standing there with two spectres.
"Saga!" And hopefully he has good reactions cause she is running towards him in order to do a flying leap into his arms. "I missed you!"
no subject
For the King, it was a refreshing sight. Where his land is full of lava, darkness, and much dreary death fitting for the land of the dead, while hers is a land of bounty and nature. Still, her home is a sad sight, a wreck from the storm and flood.
The two spectres stood by silently and dutifully by their king, stoic soldiers they are. While Saga is just as stoic as they are, but his expression dropped when his future queen ran out to greet him and she wrapped him in his arms, he slowly wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to him.
"My dear Leanne, how I miss you." He said, as he buried Leanne close to his chest. "When I heard what he did," He frowned. Such a temperamental Sea God when things doesn't go his way. "I must figure out a way to come. As you know as a King, I cannot come to the surface and leave my throne unless invited by another god. So I give thanks to you and your mother for the invite."
Such a tender moment, than he leans forward to place a kiss on her forehead and hold her close in a loving embrace. And it's a clear night too with the full moon out. The owl, his messager takes roost on one of the trees, hooting.
He took a moment. "Ah, let me introduce you to my vassals. They come with me willingly to observe and study surface. On my right, this is Hypnos, one of my younger brothers, and on the left is Rhadamanthys, one of my generals and commanders. Kanon cannot come because the throne cannot be left empty."
At that, Hypnos and Rhadamanthys, they bow respectfully to their future queen. Hynpos removed his helmet to reveal a handsome blonde man, who looks thoughtful, and carry a cosmos and aura of serene calm. Rhadamanthys, on the other hand, is a blonde with fiery eyes, and a forever scowl plastered on his face, but his expression matches the winged dragon armor.
[A/N: Since this is an AU universe, Kanon other name is Thanatos. Since it's said Hypnos is the brother of Thanatos, it make sense to make them all brothers in relation.]

"You are quite welcome. But remember what I said, this is your chance to ask Mother for my hand properly. I have been warming her up to you." Another contented sigh. "I missed you so much, my Darling."
She smiles at the kiss to the forehead and then the introductions. She holds out a hand towards each of them to kiss. "It is an honor to meet you, Hypnos and Rhadmanthys." She smiles gently, nodding her head to each of them.
Rhadmanthys was such a scary looking man, but at least Hypnos seemed to be nice. "I am sure that Mother and I can teach them all they wish to know."
She then tugs Saga towards her home. "Come! Mother was starting to make supper. All of you should join us!"

"Please excuse them. They preferred to stay outside to be our guards for it's their honor to serve us this way. They can't eat anything from the upper world." Saga said while still holding his future bride and queen in his arms. "They are citizens from the underworld. But as the king, I can eat your food but it was only you who has to give it to me that I am able to eat and join. I do desire to partake your food."
With a nod, "I'll be happy to come inside and see what your mother is cooking...if she truly forgive me from holding you in my world for far too long." For it was he who held her in his world for a long time, but after releasing her, the world seems to return back to its normal state and tip the balance of nature and life.
At that, with a graceful step over the threshold of her home, he entered inside the home of Leanne and the Mother Goddess, and he was greeted by the warm aroma of a home cooked meal ready for dinner.
Unfortunately, he cannot sit at the table unless invited and Leanne bids him to sit. The power of the Mother Goddess and the princess inside this humble home really weaken him as he's too far away from his own world and his throne. He did make a bow, "Greetings dear beloved Mother of the Earth. It is I, King Saga who pays his respects to you."
And he remained standing while the smell of warm food is in the kitchen air waiting for the Mother Goddess of the Earth approval of his presence. At first, there's a stern look only to be replaced by a warm welcome that he should sit down and enjoy dinner with her and her daughter, and with relief, Saga sat at the table...
Now the next challenge is for the Underworld King is to tolerate fresh upper world food. The upper world is so full of life and light while his world is so full of darkness and death. It will take a lot for him to get used to, especially he'll be up in this world for a day or two on his plan on his list of business to make his betrothed happy with his presence and officially ask the mother's permission and blessing for her hand in marriage to set things right.

Okay, with the two taken care of for now she smiles up at Saga and nods. "She may still be a little bit angry but my love.... I know that you can win her approval. You won my heart afterall." She tries to encourage him and reaches over to take his hand in one of her own in order to properly invite him into her house.
Once inside, it was a bit worrisome that in the end, Mother Goddess would not approve of Saga and forbid him. The stern look was one that she knew all too well and she paled a little, only to let out a sigh of relief when her mother officially welcomed Saga into their home.
Leanne giggles as she goes to set up Saga's place at the table, moving to pour him some wine and fetch a plate of food for him. She took it quite literally that she had to be the one to feed him and so, she goes to feed him by hand, smiling and giggling all the while.
The subject of gaining the Mother Goddess blessings was a little stressful for Leanne as her mother's stern and strict approach and view on her daughter came out. Opting to give Saga tasks to perform to prove his worth for her daughter's hand. Tasks which after some pleading from Leanne were not as challenging as she first set them out to be.
Though once the subject of marriage has passed, Leanne gets up from the table in order to sing a cheerful ditty and performs a small dance with her song. Singing loud enough for Hynos and Rhadmanthys to hear her.
